Environmental Statement

Saunders Wood Specialties, Inc. is a Northern Wisconsin firm engaged in the manufacture of high-quality, wood veneer panels for use in the Architectural, Office Furniture, and Store Fixture Industries.
Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI):
As a National Member of the Architectural Woodwork Institute, we agree with, support and adopt the institute's "AWI Green Statement- Forest Products Sustainability" as our "Environmental Statement" with regard to the use of our greatest Natural Resource: Wood. Wood Waste Utilization:
Saunders has taken further steps as a Company to increase the value from the resource while protecting it and others. In 2000 we installed equipment to utilize our wood waste for the production of energy to heat our facility. This action reduced our dependency on fossil fuels and substantially reduced the amount of material we were sending to landfill.
Forest Stewardship Council ® (FSC®):
In 2001 Saunders became FSC Certified for Chain of Custody for the use of FSC Certified sustainable harvested forest product materials in our manufacturing process.
